Alana presenting the Club’s work plan
After the student leaders’ meeting
During the summer the school’s student leaders present their work plans for the coming school year. This year’s meeting took place yesterday, June 22, in the school’s cafeteria which is used as a multipurpose facility. Teresita Vázquez, Dean of Student Affairs, was the moderator. The school director Pedro Juan Martínez was present as well as other club advisers. You can visit Appodiare for information on all the school’s organizations.
Worthy of note: The school’s student organizations continued the work planned for 2020-2021 under modified conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The IT Club was no exception. All of the student organization activities were held virtually using Google Meets or Facebook Live events. Only a few were in-person events observing CDC and state health guidelines.
Alana Sierra, the IT Club president, presented the Club’s work plan based on what she had previously discussed with the Club staff, Carlos and Yamilette. I expect interesting ideas from this team next year.
You’ll see the Club’s work plan in both English and Spanish on the following page:

Here’s hoping all student organizations can fulfill their work plans for the 2021-2022 school year! ~~LMM IT Club adviser
It’s been an interesting first week, to say the least. We’re back to reality, virtual, that is. This first trimester will be in long-distance education mode and we’re not sure if it will be only the first trimester. The Covid19 pandemic has sure hit everyone hard. Who knew last year at this time we would be where we are right now? Just goes to show how life can change in a just matter of days.
Besides academic classes, all extracurricular activities will be online. The Club’s first meeting will be held next Thursday at 2:30 pm via Google Meet. The Club president presented briefly the work plan for this year at Thursday’s meeting of all the school’s clubs and organizations. We have several students who would like to be a part of the Club. They’re more than welcome.
Here’s hoping this new school year is filled with all kinds of learning. It’s definitely one for the history books! Best wishes for all! ~~LMMolina, Club Adviser
Presenting our newest member and official mascot: Charlie
He will guard the computer room and protect the club! Thanks to Emilio, a former club president, for the idea of adopting Charlie, the ViewSonic as our mascot. ~~LMMolina, Club Adviser
Our IT staff is graduating at the end of this month. I will sorely miss them! They’ve been a tremendous help during our meetings and related extra-curricular activities throughout this rough school year. Not even Hurricane Maria could deter them from their duties. I was fortunate to have a dedicated staff. I wish them only the best in their future endeavors. Juan Pablo, Gabriel and Abigail: You have my blessings! ~~LMMolina, Club Adviser
Hope everyone has had a nice holiday season and is geared up for a brand new year. 2018 should be an awesome one. It really depends on how we look at things and manage situations as they arise. The hurricane experience should have taught us some lessons.
Our IT Club will continue meeting and the first one for this new year and second semester is scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Yes! We’re going back to our regular school schedule! About time, don’t you think?
This semester I’m planning a Teen Tech Week to be held during the week of March 5th thru the 9th. I’m counting on you guys to participate. One of the activities will be the traditional Lego Competition but this time with a different twist. Other ideas may be presented and taken into consideration at Thursday’s meeting.
Best wishes for a successful semester and excellent new year! See you soon! ~~LMMolina, Club Adviser
